Important Installation Note:

When utilizing the Sargent 559 shim kit on doors equipped with outside trim (levers or thumbpieces), hardware dimensions must be adjusted. Because the shims move the device 1/8" further from the door face, the spindle length, thumbpiece tailpiece, and thru bolt length must be increased accordingly to ensure proper mechanical engagement and security.

If your vertical rods are catching or the latches fail to "deadlock," it is often due to the chassis being slightly bowed by an uneven door surface.
