Standard small "butterfly" thumbturns can be difficult for individuals with limited hand dexterity to operate, especially under the tension of a heavy-duty deadlock. Installation Note: To ensure the thumbturn remains stable and does not wobble during use, the mortise lock body or deadlock must be perfectly centered in the door. We recommend that the door trim be secured using high-strength thru bolts. If the internal lock body shifts, it can put lateral pressure on the 130W tailpiece, leading to binding or a "stiff" feel when trying to lock the door.
